PAT PARROTT
Owner/Designer – The Artful Dwelling
Pat Parrott’s earliest memories include fabrics and color. Even as a young girl, she’d design clothing and new homes in her imagination, conjuring up unique combinations of textures and color to get just the right combination in her head to create a beautiful, finished product.
So, when it came time for college, it only made sense to aim for a career major that would allow her to combine her love of all things design with her passion for life and home.
Pat graduated from the University of Alabama with a B.A. in Marketing with a Minor in Fashion Merchandising. After college, she settled in High Point, North Carolina to work with clients from all over the world to decorate their homes from over 200 lines of furniture.
It was in 2002 that she opened her own company designing children's rooms and baby nurseries as well as selling bedding, furniture, and fabrics. This was a jumping point to working with builders, assisting them with custom and spec homes.
She quickly saw the pitfalls and drawbacks from builders who did not take the time to fully get to know their client, understanding how that client lived in their home space and how they as the builder could affect solutions for their particular lifestyle. Pat felt a strong desire to offer design services that would help the client create spaces based upon how they actually lived, not just what looked good. She quickly gained a reputation as a designer who listened. Prior to ever starting the project, Pat would inquire, inquire, inquire and then….inquire again. It was only after getting to know each client fully that she would move forward with creating the perfect living space for their needs. Then, as she says, “we can start designing!”
Pat’s love of life, family, friends, colors, textures, fabrics, furniture, food and more all culminate into one unique designer package, offering her clients someone who will not only listen to what they are saying, but a designer who can then take those ideas and turn them into reality.
Whether it’s a re-model, new construction or dream stage, she loves working one on one with builders and families to design a home that will reflect how a particular family actually lives.
Pat says it best herself. “My wish is that through a small piece of advice or a delicious food recipe, I can assist my clients in creating their own artful dwelling and respite, so that their home is a special place where magic happens.”
If you need help with a remodel, addition, or new construction and would like your home to reflect your personality, lifestyle, and how you really live, connect with Pat. She wants to chat. Maybe have a cup of “virtual coffee” and discuss your design thoughts and dreams. “I also seem to have a lot of funny things happen to me in my pursuit of my passions, so I am all for being real!” she adds. “I’ll post all my funny adventures here on the blog!”
Enjoy!
