Wall Gardens

Now this is a great invention! For a fantastic visual impact in a small courtyard or garden use woolly pockets. This is an easy way to add color and life to a small space either indoors or out.

A lot of houses in my neighborhood have small, long rectangular backyards and patios, so there is not a lot of room for pots to bring in the summer annuals. These would be great along a fence line, or staggered on one wall to liven up a space. These would be also great for a small herb garden. Whoever designed these is a genius!

Good Design Is More Than Decorating

I think I take it for granted that I live in a house that I love top to bottom, mainly because I designed and decorated it. It works great for my family. I have met with several people over the last few days that really don't like their houses and parts of their homes just don't work for how they live.

As a design consultant it's so fun and satisfying to think I can help these families have a better life in terms of living in a house that works for them.  Then, when they walk through the front door they can have a sense of calm and go "aaaahhh, I am home and I really like it here", instead of "ugh, I really live here??"

The words I love to hear the most are, "I never would have thought of that". Giving people options when they didn't think they had any is very cool. It's amazing how the right colors and aesthetic can affect someone's life so much. All of this isn't work for me, it's easy and fun. I wish I could do all this for others for free, but I do need to pay for my hobbies-real estate investing, horses, and dogs!

Property Chick--Restyle, ReInvent, ReDesign

Property Chick is now up and running! My new blog is up and we are reviewing houses and interviewing home owners to be on our opening segment on youtube! We will have our own channel and film episodes where we re-style a room or house, or highlight real estate that people pass up on that could easily become something fabulous. I will try to make everyone see the potential of their home through my eyes. It should be great fun and knowing me, humbling--because strange and funny things always seem to happen to me.

Re-Style
